The Government of Canada introduced an ETA in March, 2016 but has exercised some leniency since then.
Beginning September 29, 2016, Canadian immigration officials will strictly enforce the presentation of an ETA before flying into or transiting through Canada.
All formerly visa exempt nationals are required to have an ETA when entering Canada by air.
The ETA covers multiple entries, is valid for up to five years and does not require proof of travel.
Visit the Canadian ETA Website for more information.
